Practical, Individualized Support with Dr. Shannon Brazee

Autistic people may seek therapy for anxiety, mood concerns, sensory overwhelm, relationships, or the demands of school, work, and everyday life. The support that helps one person may look different for another.

Dr. Shannon Brazee provides online therapy for autistic children, teens, and adults throughout California. She works with each person’s strengths, needs, and goals, with practical support for managing distress and navigating daily life.

Her services focus on psychotherapy and skills-based support. She does not provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy.

When Therapy May Help

You or your child may be looking for support with:

  • Anxiety, depression, or difficult emotions

  • Sensory overwhelm, stress, or burnout

  • Changes in routines and life transitions

  • Communication, relationships, or family conflict

  • School or work demands

  • Self-esteem, identity, or understanding a diagnosis

  • Trauma-related concerns or habits that interfere with daily life

Whether a diagnosis is recent or longstanding, therapy can provide space to explore what you need now.

Dr. Brazee’s Approach

Dr. Brazee works collaboratively to understand your concerns and choose goals that matter to you. Therapy may focus on managing emotions, communicating your needs, navigating transitions, and developing routines that fit your life.

For children and teens, parent support may help families better understand their child’s needs and respond to challenges at home. Co-occurring concerns, such as trauma, mood symptoms, or addictions, can also be discussed.

Tools Adapted to Your Needs

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) explores connections between thoughts, emotions, and actions, with practical strategies for responding to anxiety, stress, and mood concerns.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills focus on managing emotions, tolerating distress, practicing mindfulness, and communicating effectively in relationships.

Trauma-informed support makes room for difficult experiences and emphasizes collaboration, choice, and a supportive therapy environment.

Parent support may help families understand patterns, reduce conflict, and practice useful responses in everyday situations.

The goals are guided by the individual’s needs and strengths, with respect for their identity and ways of experiencing the world.
